Questions of difference and diversity have emerged as central concerns in EFL education, both in research and in teaching practice. This conference invites students and young researchers to explore issues of difference and diversity during talks, joint discussions, and networking activities.
The EFL Education department is pleased to welcome Dr. Manuel López-Pereyra, who will deliver a keynote talk to frame this conference. Dr. López-Pereyra is affiliated with the Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México and will spend an exchange week at the UDE for joint research and teaching activities. His stay is funded through the Internationales Gastdozierendenprogramm of the UDE.

Keynote talk
Dr. Manuel López-Pereyra, Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México:
“Negotiating Difference, Embracing Diversity: Pedagogical Frameworks and Inclusive Practices”
Abstract: This talk will focus on pedagogical frameworks that challenge sexualities discourses in educational settings from critical, feminist, and queer perspectives. During the conversation, we will highlight the importance of inclusive education as a pedagogical practice that promotes values of justice and equity. Thus, it will become clear how inclusive teaching practices are essential learning frameworks that intersect with diverse individual identities, such as religion, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality, in everyday activities in the classroom.
