Welcome to the Website of the Working Group on Inclusive Education and Diversity

On the following pages, we present our research area and provide key information about our work at the University of Duisburg-Essen. For many years, our team has been committed to conducting relevant research on inclusive education and diversity at both national and international levels. Our work aims to contribute to the development of inclusive education in educational institutions through our scientific activities. We collaborate closely with partners from practice, educational administration, education policy, and civil society.

Our goal is not merely to translate solutions and practices from science into practice, but to work together with our partners to explore ways in which inclusive and equitable learning can be achieved in schools and other educational institutions for all children and young people, despite the often contradictory and challenging conditions. Together, we strive to overcome barriers and processes of stigmatization and exclusion within the German education system.

Together with our national and international partners, we bring a broad spectrum of expertise and interests to the important issues of inclusion and diversity. We regularly participate in national and international networks on inclusive education and organize scientific events such as conferences, workshops, seminars, and lecture series. The findings from our research are also integrated into our university teaching, in an effort to best prepare future educators and teachers for their upcoming challenges.
