Professional structures are an essential prerequisite for success and indispensable for achieving goals. We dynamically adapt structures, instruments and measures to current issues and conditions and develop them further.
Our Vice-Rectorate for Transfer, Innovation and Digitalization firmly anchors the “Transfer” field of action in UDE's governance. With the existing units, structures and partners, UDE is working on a concept to strengthen the holistic promotion of transfer and exchange with society, business and politics. The aim is to move from the idea to understanding and shared knowledge, and from invention to implementation and innovation.
To this end, UDE's research and teaching priorities are to be supplemented on the one hand by thematically independent transfer clusters and on the other hand by a partnership model. The latter should allow us to develop instruments and measures on a structured decision-making basis and to prioritize and develop activities in a targeted manner.
We want to strategically develop communication channels from science to its environment and from society to the university in order to make the relevance and benefits of science even more widely accessible. Diversity, sustainability, internationalization and digital transformation are key objectives that the university management has agreed to continue to strengthen and which are also important “guiding principles” in the promotion of university transfer.
Our most important goal is to reliably expand the already very diverse and successful cooperation with our partners from society, business, politics and culture on an equal footing and to enter into new collaborations. In particular, cooperation in and with the cities of Duisburg and Essen, within the University Alliance Ruhr and the European alliance AURORA as well as the region should be further strengthened through transfer networks.
