Zi Wang publishes new article on Chinese migrants' wellbeing during Covid-19
Addressing migrants’ well-being during COVID-19: An analysis of Chinese communities’ heritage language schools in Germany. In: Migration Studies, Dec. 2020
With each pandemic-induced lockdown, the (non)closure of schools becomes one of the most contested topics. Rightly so, because either way, students' education and wellbeing needs are affected. Migrant children are particularly vulnerable and deserve the attention of migration scholars and policymakers. Zi Wang studied how Chinese heritage language schools as community-based organisations addressed their young members' wellbeing needs during Germany's first lockdown. Results are now published in the journal Migration Studies (OUP), and featured in an interview with the European Commission-funded Marie Curie Alumni Association Annual Magazine.
