DeZIM Workshop Series: New Perspectives on Environmental Migration Research: (Digital) Climate Discourse, Urban Spaces, Materialities
With the financial support from the German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM), we are pleased to organize a two-day interdisciplinary workshop on July 5-6, 2023 that engages with the multifaceted ways in which climate change and migration are complexly interconnected. The workshop provides a welcoming space for discussing new perspectives which consider environmental displacement as a beyond traumatic experience influencing, inter alia, discursive structures, urban spaces, and materialities. No fees are required for this workshop which covers accommodation (in Essen), travel and board (lunch).
To attend the workshop, applicants are required to send a 250-word application letter detailing current research interests or projects and reasons for applying for the workshop. Please send your applications to the workshop convener, Prof. Dr. Maida Kosatica (maida.kosatica@uni-due.de), no later than 1 June 2023. Please direct your questions and practical inquiries to the workshop co-organizer, Prof. Dr. Eva Gredel (eva.gredel@uni-due.de).
