Structural Characterization of Complex Oxides for Oxidation Catalysis
Project B1 aims at delivering quantitative indicators of the real structure of crystalline, nanoscaled model catalysts. The model catalysts will be synthesized by chemical vapor synthesis and analyzed by a combination of X-ray scattering and diffraction, neutron and electron scattering and X-ray absorption spectroscopy providing access to information about defect density and pair distribution functions. The knowledge will contribute to unravel the effect of defects and surface hydroxyl groups on catalytic activity.
