Project A4
Surface Reactivity of Advanced Model Oxides Catalysts
Prof. Dr. Beatriz Roldán Cuenya
Project A4 probes the surface reactivity of model ultrathin films and nanoparticle oxidation catalysts from the Areas B and C, consisting of mixed iron-cobalt spinels and perovskites by advanced surface science techniques and operando methods, with the goal of unravelling structure, chemical state, and reactivity correlations. The electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and the thermal oxidation of isopropanol, cyclohexene and cyclohexane will be investigated. Changes in the exposed surfaces will be followed in the course of gas- and liquid-phase reactions using AFM and TEM (also EC-AFM and EC-TEM), STM (UHV and high pressure), FTIR, TPD, AP-XPS (lab and synchrotron), XAFS and NRIXS (synchrotron).
