Element-specific electronic, magnetic and local geometric structure effects in mixed oxide catalysts
Project B2 investigates the local electronic and geometric structure of perovskite- and spinel-type oxidation catalysts obtained from Area C. The analysis is based on a multi-method approach, which includes element-specific methods of Mössbauer spectroscopy, and X-ray absorption techniques as well as magentometry. The structure information will be obtained in comparative studies with suitable reference systems, such as epitaxial thin films on single crystalline substrates like CoFe2O4/SrTiO3(100) prepared by pulsed laser deposition.
