Use of the Duisburg-Essen University Library is generally free of charge for all students and employees of the UDE as well as for all interested citizens resident in Germany.

There can be charges in the following cases, according to the scale of charges and fees in the University Library of the Duisburg-Essen University from April 9th 2010:

• Belated return of media
• Loss of media
• Loss of locker keys
• Flat-rate charge for interlibrary loan orders
• Replacement card
• Reprographies by user order

 You can pay any outstanding fees at these branch libraries:

• LK Library (Duisburg campus),
• GW/GSW Library (Essen campus),
• Medical Library (University Clinic Essen).

In the GW/GSW Library and the LK Library, our pay machines are available for cashless payments.
