Enrollment in the Bachelor Programm
Who can study?
There are many different ways to access the EIT bachelor's degree program. An entire chapter in the examination regulations addresses this. It can be summarized like this:
- You have the general or specific higher education entrance qualification, then you can enroll directly in the study program during the enrollment period of each year.
- You have the entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences, a master craftsman's certificate or something similar? You can also study electrical engineering and information technology at the University of Duisburg-Essen! However, you will need than a confirmation of your qualification by the university. It sounds complicated, but it is not, especially if you have a technical college entrance qualification in a technical subject. Contact the chairman of the examination board, he can tell you exactly how the procedure works.
When does the study program start?
The courses always start in the winter semester, i.e. in mid-October. We also strongly recommend attending the preliminary courses of the MINTroduce program , especially "Applied Mathematics for Engineering Students" and "Physics for Engineering Students". They start in the middle of August.
What can or should I do beforehand?
Part of the study program is an industrial internship of a total of 15 weeks, some of which can be completed before the start of the study program. More information on this can be found here.
