We have been active in the fields of architectual fabric materials testing and research for over 30 years. In May 2018, the Institute for Metal and Lightweight Structures was recognised as a testing and certification body by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt). Since the end of 2019 we are now also an inspection body.

This enables the team of the Essen Laboratory for Lightweight Structures, or ELLF, not only to support you in an advisory capacity but also to actively accompany you in your project. The Institute for Metal and Lightweight Structures is your partner in testing of building products, components and joints, monitoring of manufacturing processes, product certification up to the technical support, in the development of general building approvals or approval in individual cases.
