Wide panel tear test
The wide panel tear test is a special form of the biaxial tensile test. It is carried out in accordance with the European Design Guide for Tensile Surface Structures. At this test a defined pre-damage is introduced in the middle of the test area and then forced to tear propagation by biaxial tensile loading. The evaluation of such a test proves the ability of your material to resist the loss of load even after damage. Especially for larger membrane structue projects this tests are often demanded to guarantee a minimum of structual stability of the used material.
