Research Overview
Our group investigates cellular pattern recognition and its effects both on the molecular level with regard to both specific ligand - receptor interactions and intracellular signal transduction, as well as on the cellular and systemic level for infections and sterile interruptions of normal homeostasis due to trauma. Our main goal is to make a substantial contribution to the elucidation of the mode of action of pattern recognition receptors (PRR) using molecular biological, protein biochemical and immunological methods.
