Female Scientists Get-Together
Every 6 weeks the CRC 1430 organizes a Female Scientists Get-Together. This gathering is an excellent opportunity for the talented women of CRC 1430 to share their experiences in research, discuss strategies for advancing their careers, and build a supportive network. These dynamic sessions alternate every six weeks between the UKE "Casino" and the Essen campus "Brücke," offering a welcoming space to connect, exchange ideas, and empower each other in the scientific community.
Don´t miss our last get-together in 2024 at Christmas Market Essen on 4th of December!

Dr. Florian Rambow (UK Essen, Germany) - Lessons from the melanoma ecosystem
Over the last years, cancer research has shifted gears with the advent of single-cell technologies. Recent advances in molecular biology, microfluidics, and nanotechnology make it now possible to measure genomic, epigenomic, and proteomic changes in single (cancer) cells even in a spatially resolved fashion. These techniques have already granted groundbreaking insights into cancer biology by revealing the complex and so far underestimated heterogeneity of a single tumor (millions of cells), which is a major obstacle to successful anti-cancer therapy. My research makes use of these cutting-edge single-cell approaches to create high-resolution tumor maps for melanoma, the most lethal form of skin cancer.
