Retreat 2021

The CRC 1430’s first annual retreat, held on December 9-10, 2021, was a unique event marked by both innovation and adaptability. Originally planned as an in-person gathering at Funke Medienhaus, the retreat was shifted online to the MeetAnyway platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, the event succeeded in fostering scientific exchange and community building, proving to be a full success.

The retreat featured a series of engaging talks and poster sessions, where researchers had the opportunity to present and discuss their latest findings. With the pandemic limiting face-to-face interactions, many PhD students and postdocs had not yet met in person. To bridge this gap, an online networking event, organized by Mighty Real, was incorporated into the retreat. This event was crucial in helping participants establish new connections and reinforce the collaborative spirit of the CRC 1430 community.

In a thoughtful gesture, participants received snack boxes prior to the retreat, adding a personal touch to the virtual format and ensuring everyone was energized throughout the sessions.

This retreat demonstrated the resilience and creativity of the CRC 1430 community, successfully overcoming the hurdles posed by the pandemic to create an engaging and scientifically enriching event.

Congratulations to the poster award winners!

Despite the unusual circumstances, the CRC 1430 community was able to honor outstanding contributions with the following awards:
