On October 6, the motif voting for the Life Beyond Vision Calendar 2024 ended. 128 employees of the University Hospital Essen and the University of Duisburg/Essen participated in this year's voting and thus determined the 13 calendar motifs shown in the graphic evaluation. 

With 79 to 77 votes, the motif #47 by Dr. Meray Serdar (WG Experimental Perinatal Neurosciences) was nominated as the cover picture ahead of the motif #36 (taken in the context of the 2023 student course"Modern Microscopy" for the Master's degree programs in Biology and Medical Biology).

On the back places it was also very exciting this year and the deer sequence changed with every voting day. In the end, 3 motifs, with 41 votes each, ended up in 13th place, so we had to exclude 2 motifs. Looking at the result, we decided internally that we will not include motif #37 (voting place 10) in the calendar, because it comes from the same series as the motif on place 2. Furthermore, we will not include motif #40 (voting place 13) in the calendar, because it is the identical motif on place 11.

The drawing of the 5 calendars among all participants will take place as soon as we will have the finished copies in our hands. The result will be published here and we will also contact the respective persons.
